Princess Bubblegum Felt Headband

I never heard of Princess Bubblegum before, one day my cousin called and asking me to make a tiara like Princess Bubblegum for my niece  birthday party. Instead of making the tiara which I personally think it looked so funny, I  just make the princess face itself and make few headband and brooches.

Before I sew the mouth and stick her face, it really looked like an octopus...hehe..

Kakak Bear (that is what she address herself) turning 3 this year and her birthday was on 1st Sept, however everyone was busy during that time and ignore her birthday celebration, and she kept on nagging her mom and demand for a small party. Because she like Princess Bubblegum so much, so the birthday theme was The Adventure of Princess Bubblegum

Felt Rose Tutorial

Felt Rose Tutorial, the first tutorial from Mekar, I will share more and more soon, sharing is caring right. Anway, here are the pictorial steps oh how to make felt rose like the photo above.

You need about 5 pieces of round shape cut of felt fabric, or you may style it a bit to make a curvy round, so that the rose petal will look more nicer. The diameter will be around 5.5-6cm

Cut those shape into half. If you use more than 5, you may get a bigger flower, and if you want smaller flower, you may size down the diameter of your round shape felt fabric.

 Arrange it like this and sew (jahit jelujur).

You will get something like this.

Then you just roll it nicely, make sure the back of the rose are even, so that you will get a neat rose petals.

Sew at the back of your rose, or you may just glue it if you are lazy to sew.

Beautiful sweet roses...

This is what I make with all of the roses, once you know how to do the flower, you may just use your creativity or imagination to create more item from the roses, I shall share more final product made from this simple roses.

Craft Supply in Malaysia

Salam all, today I would like to share some information regarding craft supply in Malaysia. From where I get all my craft supply, like felt fabric, headband, glue, button, etc.

There are few online shop that you may purchase your craft supply from, one of it is from ChomelCraft. They have almost everything that you need to make your handmade stuff, just name it, eyelet, ribbons, headband, felt...so many more.

And another online shop, which they also have offline shop in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, I heard they will be opening another offline shop soon at Terengganu. It is Sus n d Felt Product. Just go to their website and register, and start shopping for your craft need. For SUS they also supplied the Sizzix Bigshot machine and the dies, they also have third party dies like Die-namic 

 

Another online shop that you can browse around will be Something Sweet on Facebook. This vendor didn't have an online shop unlike ChomelCraft or SUS, but you can just PM the owner to purchase anything in their album. They did took pre order for cutting dies as well.

Back on Track

Assalamulaikum, It's been a while I didn't update the blog, finally I manage to take a breath and settled after delivering my first child, and my craft room back to business, manage to find time to work on few designs and complete unfinished project. Motherhood is fun but I'm  new to it and will continue learning as my baby grow.

Anyway, these days in Malaysia, there were so many new crafters, tumbuh macam cendawan lepas hujan, some are really into craft, some just follow the trend, and then stop after they get bored or switch to new crafting trend. There were so many issue arise among the crafters especially in copy cat other people design, well, we it hard to pattern our creative idea here, people will definitely find a way to copy you, well I believe those designer in fashion industry already immune of that.

Whatever it is, I really hope those customer really appreciate my design and happy with my workmanship. Hope in the coming future I will come out with new beautiful design and enhance my workmanship.
